The Wine Farm "Pianbello"

The Wine Farm "Pianbello" is located in the commune of Loazzolo, at 400 m. of altitude, in an uncontaminated corner of Asti Langa, in the middle of vineyards of "Moscato", "Dolcetto", "Chardonnay" and thriving woods.

The image of the wolf, present in the coat of arms of the Loazzolo Commune, is a characteristic element also of the logo of the farm "Pianbello" that covers 80 hectares, of which 25 cultivated as vineyard.

The placename "Loazzolo", as you can read on the label of each bottle, derives from the Latin LUPATIOLUM (place where wolves run about) ancient Latin name of Loazzolo. And a "Stream of Wolves" flows just close to the Farm Pianbello (sheet 5, mapping 8 of the commune registry office) where the family Cirio, who can boast years of rural history fully dedicated to the production of high-quality wine, trying to exploit at best the exceptional resources that these lands offer, has been producing for two generations the typical wines of the Asti Langa and of the Loazzolo territory.

The zone, for several months in the year, is exposed to marine winds that confer particular perfume and taste to wines.

The production systems of grapes are traditional and are based on ancient knowledge and on experience.

"We pursue the wine quality starting from the vineyard. To obtain high-quality grapes – specifies Pietro Cirio – we periodically execute thinning out, eliminating the not so fine bunches and taking care of the "cleaning" of vineyards to improve the exposure to the sun and to reach a very good degree of ripening.
